*Nationwide deducts the Asset Fee from the assets of the Separate Account on a daily
basis at the annual rate shown above.

**These are the Total Annual Fund Operating Expenses for each underlying fund as of
its year end. Total Annual Fund Operating Expenses are expenses that are deducted
from fund assets, including management fees, 12b-1 distribution fees, and other
expenses. Actual fees and expenses for the funds vary daily, so the fees and expenses
on any given day may be higher or lower than the expenses listed.  Consult fund
prospectus for more information.

***Nationwide receives these fees and payments from the underlying funds in addition
to the Asset Fees.

Comments:

As with most insurance
based 401k offerings the
total charges to plan
participants are quite high.

Fund selection is adequate
but the fund classes
offered are not in all cases
the least expensive
available. In spite of the
1.40% Asset Fee that is
added to each funds
expenses.

In a low interest rate
environment it is hard to
make profitable
investments in bonds and
cash, thus reducing the
value of any asset
allocation strategy the
participant might choose.
